Reserves Leaders Meeting, Room 223, Tuesday Morning

Tara was still a little groggy from her dream of the ball as she got her room ready for all the other Reserves leaders -- it seemed obvious to her that it was better they get together and make a plan than that they let everybody go off on their own.

Not that Tara exactly knew how to plan against a giant smelly bog and magically appearing walls that seemed to hold people captive, but hey. She could be optimistic.

Her supplies were simple: A bag of cookies filched from the kitchen, some soda, a makeshift easel for writing down ideas, and a pile of every book on the supernatural she had in case people wanted to start researching before they got to the library.

She figured Kennedy and Maladicta would bring the weapons.

[OOC: Post is for the other reserve leader types, but the door is open. This is not the fighting reserves post -- that's been postponed to tomorrow so the groups can meet together.]

"They took The Perk," Maladicta grumbled, clinging to her coffee rather than any cookies. "And I wasn't able to leave the island either."

She did not approve of any of this.

"There was simply a maze instead." A beat. "One designed by B.S. Johnson*."

"My Soul-Self cannot fly over it," Raven interjected. "And I cannot teleport within its walls. It is magically protecting itself."

Raven had her hood up when she arrived and kept it that way, but the way she kept twisting the twin rings on her hands revealed her agitation. She knew she had to remain calm and rational to help her friends, but right now, that was a difficult battle.

Kennedy shot her a concerned glance. "You keeping it together okay?"

"I am well enough," Raven said.

Liar, Trigon laughed.

"I am disappointed that I had Karla in my grasp last night," she went on, shaking her father's voice off. "But I could not take her with me when whatever magics were holding us in that dream shattered."

The slight arch of Kennedy's eyebrows hinted that she wasn't entirely sure either.

"It was nice while it lasted but I can go without ever having that kind of freaky-ass dream again," she muttered. Something about Raven's phrasing was catching her attention, though...

"Radio said something about floaty sphere things that people were breaking, didn't it?"

"And I thought I heard a sound like breaking glass when I began to come back to my senses," Raven said, nodding, unconscious clenching her hands into fists at the thought of being controlled as she had been.

No one controls the daughter of Trigon.

"We should speak to Ben, he was one of those who broke the spheres," she said. "I believe the radio said he saw Ender in one, and he is one of the missing and was at the masquerade."

That morning, Dolf had finally taken his old bread knife out from under his pillow and, after giving it a moment's thought, put it in its old sheath and slid it under the wasteband of his trousers, covered by his shirt.

He was looking jumpy. "Maybe we should listen to the podcasts again," he said, "Put things in a row?"

"I'll do that," he said, "And in the meantime we should figure out as much about what this maze looks like. And what goblins might be scared of."

That being sead, he was heading for Tara's computer with a mission in mind.

"..pod cast?" Silly technology.

Sadly, Dolf was so used to explaining technology to people from the past and/or other dimensions that he didn't even miss a beat. "Recorded sound. You know a radio show? A podcast is a series of them, but on the computer."

Maladicta just nodded like she completely understood him. As befitting a vampire.

Dolf gave her a smile and an encouraging nod. As befitting a Dolf.

... Actually, he'd just been two seconds from adding, 'It's from Holland' just in case she'd gotten confused there. Damn reflexes.

Kennedy did, yeah, have a duffel bag full of weapons that she'd stashed in a corner of the room, the few actual books on the supernatural that her Watcher had sent her, and her laptop.

She was sitting cross-legged on the edge of Tara's bed, wearing the slightly irritable look on her face that she usually got when she'd had a weird dream.

"There's more random new walls out there today than there were yesterday," she put in, a tiny bit sheepish about tacitly admitting she'd gone out for a run in this. "So whatever this maze is, I think it's growing. I'm thinking that can't be good. Also, I tried to call Constance earlier and nothing."

Kennedy glanced at her, frowned, and pulled her phone out. She set it on speakerphone mode and tried Zack's number only to get an error message, the same result she got when she dialed Francine, Dinah, her dad, and, on a wild chance, her mom's number in Portugal.

"Nothing," she confirmed, running a hand through her hair. "Someone else give it a shot? So we know it's not just my phone?"

A little bit later, Dolf had scratched his findings onto a piece of paper and tacked it against the wall with a bit of duct tape as a make-shift blackboard.

"So," he started, "First people started being kidnapped. Then bits of labyrinth showed up on Monday. More people were kidnapped. And some of you went to sleep and woke up at a party, while other people saw orbs and goblins in the streets. Then some of you woke up, but the people who were kidnapped, we haven't heard from. Now there is more labyrinth."

He frowned at the little piece of paper. "...Does anyone know what the party looked like?"

"Did you see anyone important?" Dolf wanted to know, frowning at his list. "That must be where they are being kept, then." A pause. He sighed. "Or everyone had very similar food poisoning."

"There was one who was called king there," Raven offered up. "He told me his parties never cease, and that the wine had been prepared for the new arrivals. It must have been poisoned." That had to be why Karla had fought her.
