Left outside Tara's room door on Sunday morning was a rectangular package, wrapped in expensive paper but somewhat clumsily, with a card attached.

Inside the wrapping paper was an old leatherbound volume about an inch thick-- a compendium of fairly obscure spells and rituals that Constance had vetted thoroughly before letting Kennedy buy the book.

The card read:

Hey, you.

Hope this gets there on the right day. The Fandom post office was supposed to know when to deliver it.

Anyway, happy 18th birthday to the most awesome person I know. You're all grown up and stuff now! It's not scary, promise. Well, much. You can totally handle it. (Probably better than I do sometimes...)
