Harpy B-3, Later Wednesday

After Tara had finished checking around the campfire and it seemed like everyone was back to normal -- or as normal as Fandom ever got, anyhow -- she slipped away and back to her bunk, where she lay on the cot, trying not to think about anything in particular. (She felt ashamed. And embarrassed. And a bit convinced she would never live this down, no matter what Raven and Karla said.)

The curtains were drawn shut and the light was off, but she'd probably let in anyone who made the effort to look for her. She could only avoid everyone for so long.

That got Tara to look up, slight consternation on her face. "The best you can say is that it wasn't one-eyed tentacled blob monsters?!?!?"

It might have been almost funny. Sort of. A bit.

"So I picked that at random," Kennedy blurted out, spreading her hands. "I'm just saying, it could have actually been bad, and it wasn't."

"... yeah, okay," Tara admitted, a little grudgingly. "It's gonna be a while before I try a spell where it might hit anybody else, though."

"And that's cool," Kennedy decided, and made a move to lie down beside her. It would be cramped, but... "Does it help if I tell you I still think you're awesome?"

Tara seemed surprised, but scooted to make room for Kennedy. "That always helps. Even if I don't know how you still see it."

"How can I not?" Kennedy asked, tracing her fingertips along Tara's arm. "What, you want me to explain it? You just are, and I love you for it."

"You can explain it if you want to," Tara said, hand atop Kennedy's. "I love you too, though. This would be so much harder without you."

"We could be here all night if I did," Kennedy said idly, and tilted her head to rest it lightly against Tara's. "Which you've got me for one way or another if you need me."

No innuendo at all this time, actually.

Tara turned her head to kiss Kennedy's cheek. "Thank you. I would really like it. If you stayed."

Kennedy laughed and curled a little closer. "Guess I'm not going anywhere, then."

And, you know, if anyone wanted to give Tara any crap about it, they'd just have to go through her.
